error connecting to database

When I start HEM I get a pop up: "The following error occured when trying to open the database: Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1'"

After further researching I figured it out.

I followed the info in this link: http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34

I mainly attribute my success to the last portion of last info given in the thread where I was directed to deleted the .pid file.
