I have recently bought a new hard drive, and I would like to transfer my HM database to the new drive as It is taking up too much space on my old one, how would I go about doing this?

(ps: I am not particularly good with PC's, so if possible, could you make the instructions easy to follow)

Any help would be greatly appreciated :)

Hi

My computer totally crashed so I had to re-install it and just copied the hm-folder + the postgres folder. How can I get my database back?

Thanks in advance

Hi, if you have installed postgresql again then turn off the service by finding PostgreSQL in the Start Menu and using the Stop Service option. Then delete the \Data folder in the new installation of postgres and copy your backed up \Data folder over. if you can't delete then you may need to reboot.

Then in the PostgreSQL menu click on Start Service and if everything went right you should be able to connect to your old database.

Please update the thread with your results or of course if you need further assistance.

Hi

I think this may be the same question as above but I am going on holiday for 3 weeks and will have to use a different laptop at this time so would copying all of mmy data over be done the same way.. And am i right in thinking i would need to register Holdem Manager again on the new laptop and then take it off when i come back?

Thank you

To copy the postgresql data folder check this: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Reinstall PostgreSQL Preserving Old Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/71/Reinstall+PostgreSQL+Preserving+Old+Database)

Make a backup before trying this: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Backup & Restore Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup+%26+Restore+Database)

You can activate your license key with PC(2) on the laptop
