Hi

I recently did the optimization on HEM, and afterwards got the Failed to connect to 127. etc etc error which seems very common error.

I followed all the steps, stopping and starting postgres, running as admin, removing anti virus software and firewalls and got nothing.

I then accidently uninstalled postgres in an attempt to reinstall and now cannot reinstall it and get a different error when I try to log on.

Is it possible to arrange a teamviewer session asap with a member of HEM staff?

Thanks

Hi,

Whats the new error that you get, generally we only do teamviewer sessions when we feel something cannot be solved via the FAQs or normal support options.

What version of PostgreSQL had you originally installed, what version were you trying to install when you got this error. Are you trying to retrieve your old database or just make a new blank database and start from scratch. It may not be possible to reconnect to the old one depending on the original problem but let us know the answers to those questions and well try and help

The error i'm currently getting is 'The following error occured when trying to open the database: Unable to read data from the transport connection: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.'

I had Postgres 8.3 and reinstalled 8.3, but it seems different from the first time (maybe i set in up incorrectly?).

I really want to connect to the old database I had, starting from scratch would be a disaster!

Thanks

To connect to your old database you need to reinstall postgresql again following this FAQ: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Reinstall PostgreSQL Preserving Old Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/71/Reinstall+PostgreSQL+Preserving+Old+Database)

Your last problem probably is a firewall problem: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Software Security Problems (Firewall) (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/339/Software+Security+Problems+%28Firewall%29)

If you can't figure it out: Please schedule a remote support session with our support. Email support@holdemmanager.net, with a link to this thread and your forum name, so we can setup a Teamviewer (http://www.holdemmanager.net/teamviewer) session.
