The hands are importing as they update to my hud, but I can't see the results. I've filtered it all correctly.

I am playing PLO sngs on party

Which HM1 version?
You have a Omaha license?
Please clear your filters (Filters->clear) one time although it seems like no filters are defined.
Do you see the hands under tourney -> hands?

1.12.11

I have omaha license

I have reset filters and nothing happens. It has never popped up through any hem 1 version but I didn't care because I would very rarely play sngs

The hands show up under " hands' in tourney hands.

Under results my filter reads as follows. Username, Omaha Hi, Filter: No Filter

Update:
HM1: http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_26Feb2013.exe

Try reimporting your hands into a new database.

If the hands still don't show up, email us the handhistory file of the SNG.

this is happening with my hold em hands as well. my plo hands were resolved through reimporting. is there any other way to do this? reimporting is very time consuming

You say you have an omaha license? If you do not have Holdem license, it won't show the Holdem hands.

If you do, check the game filter dropdown beside filters to make sure you are showing the right game type.

I have a dual license. I've cleared filters that may have been the cause, (PL to no filter, Omaha to Hold 'em).

The hands will show under the hands tab, but not the results tab.

My Hem version is 1.13.01

Did you create a new database and import the hands again after updating? You said you reiomported some hands but weren't clear if that was the same database or a new database. It sounds like your database is corrupt/damaged.

Try a vacuum/reindex - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+

If you continue to have problems, try the following -

*Try creating a new UTF DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/372/Reinstalling+on+a+new+PC+-+Backup+Tips

If you continue to have problems, please zip and email the problem hand histories, with a link to this thread and your forum name, to support@holdemmanager.com

I do not see any emails in our system from the email address associated with your forum account. If you want to PM me your details for the email address you sent the hands from I can try to find out why you haven't received a reply yet. In general we would normally reply to let you know the email has been forwarded to our testers. Once they have had a chance to test the files they will reply again with their results. If they can duplicate the problem it gets written up in a ticket for the developers to work on and moved into the queue. We already have a large queue of issues that need to be addressed and HM1 is low priority in general compared to HM2 so it is not possible to give any sort of ETA at this time.

Hi I've yet to be updated on either of the threads I've made in the last month and would just like to know if it's being looked at, as my affiliate needs information from my database for rakeback.

Thanks.

Thanks.

We replied to you via email on April 19th but reviewing the reply from our tester it looks like he tested a small/old sample of hands instead of the larger sample you sent. I am testing them now with our latest internal build and everything appears to be working properly for me. There is only 1 incomplete PLO game which needs to be edited manually. I will reply to you via email shortly with the results of my testing. Please check your spam inbox as our emails may have been filtered there by your email provider.

I've gone through all the steps listed. These screenshots are from a new UTF database with hands imported from my previous database archives.

The hands are clearly importing, yet results are still not shown.

I did not have these problems importing your hands.

What is your Windows > Control Panel > Region and Language > Format: option set to?

Go to the Control Panel and open the Regional and Language Options and select English (USA) as the "Current Format".

Try another new database.

If you continue to have problems, the only other thing I can think to try would be to reinstall postgresql as perhaps your postgresql installation has become damaged.

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) Use our combo installer to reinstall PostgreSQL. Make sure you un-check Holdem Manager during installation. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

If that installer fails to install PostgreSQL, please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

net user postgres /delete

4) reboot.
5) Install PostgreSQL 8.3.9 from this link - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Postgres_8.3.9-v1.0.7.exe

I've done this as well.

When I uninstalled postgres it deleted my former databases. :/

Is there any way to retrieve it? Would it be possible to have someone help me over teamviewer?

Uninstalling PostgreSQL won't delete the actual data. Check the C:/Program Files(x86)/PostgreSQL/8.x folder
Is there still a lot of data in the C:/Program Files(x86)/PostgreSQL/8.x/data folder?

If there is, re-install the same version of PostgreSQL to the same folder and you should be able to connect to your old database. (you may like to do this to export all your hands first, in case you don't have all the original handhistory files in your archive folder anymore)

Sorry this has been such a hassle. I downloaded (what I think) is version I had before. (8.4) but when connecting to databases it only shows the one I had created a couple days ago when I thought I wouldn't be able to retrieve my previous one.

There are two folders as shown in screenshot. The first is 8g and the second 16g.

You'll have to reinstall PostgreSQL 8.4.x with the manual installer from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)
When you are able to select the /DATA folder, select the location of your old data folder
(which will be in the PostgreSQL/8.4-prev-2012-0-Jun-20-06-34/Data folder)

Alternatively rename the current 8.4 folder--> to 8.4-old
Then rename 8.4-prev-2012-0-Jun-20-06-34--> to 8.4
And reinstall PostgreSQL with the manual installer to the default folder.

Previous database seems to not be there anymore. I've renamed the folder and you can see the path to data + error message + no database in 8.4

I received the same error so I won't touch it again.

You have to use the previous folder, in the above screen, select next and choose that exact folder, do not alter it, like you had earlier, where it's in data\data

aquaman
05-03-2013, 07:52 AM
At the moment I have two data folders. Do I need to alter anything before reinstalling? Where exactly do I place it upon reinstallation?

It looks like you installed postgresql to \data instead of \8.4 and that is causing the problems. You need to install postgresql to \postgresql\8.4 and the data folder needs to be placed in \postgresql\8.4 so you don't end up with \data\data again.

I will still be left with two folders titlted data. Do I need to delete one?

fozzy71
05-03-2013, 02:04 PM
Yes, but you need to be very careful which one. I would copy everything to a new folder to make sure you have it backed up and then you can check the size of the \base folder to know which one is the biggest as that should contain your original database.

aquaman

I've backed everything up. Everything in the second screenshot in my post is actually within the first data folder. Would I be better off just moving everything out of that folder, deleting the now empty data folder, and moving it back into 8.4?

You can't just move it back to a working installation. You have to uninstall postgresql and reinstall while telling it where your existing \data folder is. It has to be done very precisely or you will run into the problems you have experienced.

I personally find it easier to just reinstall postgresql and import the original hands to avoid these types of problems or restore a backup of the previous database and import any missing hands from the archive that were played after the backup was created. If you don't have a backup and/or your archive doesn't contain all of the hands that were in your database then you need to reinstall and assign the old \data folder but as you have found out it is not an easy process.

Maybe these instructions will help:

For reinstalling SQL to the same DB, follow these steps:

1) Uninstall PostgreSQL from the Windows Control Panel.
2) If you are moving the DB to a different drive/partition, manually cut or copy the \Postgresql\8.x\data directory to it's new location.
3) run the command - start > programs > accessories > command prompt > right-click > run as administrator

net user postgres /delete
4) reboot.
5) Install the same version of PostgreSQL as your current DB using these instructions - http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/71/Reinstall+PostgreSQL+Preserving+Old+Database

http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/postgresql-8.4.7-1-windows.exe

6) If you have moved/installed your DB to a non-default location, please make sure to change the 'Data Directory' path during the installation.

Just to say that I had the same problem with the hands showing for party but not the sng results.

I re-installed postgresql and updated to the HM1 internal beta, re-imported my hh's and that sorted it out.

It seems to be updating to the Internal beta that did the trick, as my old HM1 version wasn't working even when I re-installed postgresql, created a new database etc.

I am not sure what you mean. What exactly is different? I haven't done this in quite some time so I am working off a faded memory.

We don't normally provide remote support for these issues but if you have hands or player notes that only exist in the \data folder that were never backed up I will authorize a remote support session with one of our postgresql experts but if they aren't able to recover your database in under an hour your only option will be to start a fresh database and import the original hands again.

Please email support@holdemmanager.com, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Please let us know when you are available in GMT time for a teamviewer session - GMT – Greenwich Mean Time (http://www.timeanddate.com/library/abbreviations/timezones/eu/gmt.html)

Please remember that we schedule a couple days in advance and need to fit into our schedules. So give us a few days' range of times and notice.

Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/teamviewer.

Please read this important information before our teamviewer session. We cannot do the teamviewer session until all those issues are addressed below:
1 - Make sure you have updated your windows using the "Windows Update" feature Microsoft Windows Update (http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5)
* - Make sure windows is fully updated until 'No New Important Updates are Found' (this may require multiple restarts and multiple 'check for updates'), including Internet Explorer 9 (even if you use a different web browser) and change your Windows Control Panel > Regional Settings Format to English (USA).
2 - Make sure Holdem Manager is updated to the latest version Downloads and Manuals - Hold'Em Manager, Omaha Manager & HM Apps (http://www.holdemmanager.com/store/downloads-manuals.php)
3 - Please make sure you have access to a good connection, we cannot provide support on really slow connections
4 - Please allow us full access otherwise it slows down the speed at which we can fix the issue
