Hi all, my laptop died a couple of weeks ago. I've now got a replacement and re-installed HEM and PostgreSQL. I've now retrieved my old hard drive out of my laptop and have it in a USB SATA enclosure.

1st question is - can I retrieve all my database/hands from this hard drive and how do I go about this.

2nd question - after i've retrieved all the data I want off this drive can I reformat it and utilize it to improve my HEM performance in any way? It's a standard laptop 7200RPM drive if that helps.

Cheers
Daniel

Save the c:/hmarchive folder
It has ALL your handhistories.
Reimport those handhistories (by running a import from folder on it) to restore your database.

Afterwards you can format the drive, but performance of a 7200 RPM drive.... when used as an external drive will not be as good as when used as an internal drive.. due to the limit of the USB transfer speeds.
