best poker hud windows 8

I just bought a new laptop and got HEM1 working with best poker on game client. The HUD worked after I used table finer and added it to the hem the exe list . The hud works but I can't customise it. I can only get the default hud to work. Any ideas?

I have all the updates so am on latest version of hem1.

My first thought is a permissions issue. Windows 8 has some hidden, additional layers of security it seems. For example, every .exe I download, it tells me it can't run it until I click unblock in properties.

1) Please make sure you are installing on an administrator account and running as an administrator.

2) Please turn off UAC.

3) You'll need to add:
- hmupdate.exe (only exists during update)
- holdemmanager.exe
- hudfuncapps.exe
- postgres and pg_ctl, your poker client .exe
- table ninja.exe
- notecaddy.business.dll and notecaddy.contents.dll from the modules folder in holdemmanager's program files folder (you might have to type in the names in some firewalls, they do not show)

to the exceptions list in your firewall and antivirus. ****

4) Make sure that windows is fully updated. Keep checking for updates until it says twice five minutes apart that there are no more updates available.

5) You need to make sure that this folder*, as well as c:\programfiles\holdemmanager2, c:\hm2archive, c:\hmarchive and your site's hand history folder are each not read only** and that all permissions are set to full for your user name. ***

8/7/Vista: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\HoldemManager\

XP: C:\Documents and Settings\User_name\Application Data\HoldemManager

** You will need to right click the folder, open properties. At the bottom in Attributes, uncheck the Read-Only. The folder will continue showing read only after that, this is an issue in Windows

The only difference for Windows 8 is, to get to hidden files, you click View at the top, then Folder options, almost like it was in XP.

Are sure about all of the above? Hand histories importing fine and hud working just not with the stats I want. I can't see how that would be down to permissions if it is working.

Also I just ran rush poker on ftp for the first time, no hud at all there, but the hand histories are importing.

Our forums sometimes duplicate long posts. It looks like the previous tech replied with steps for fixing HM2 because they didn't realize they were in the HM1 forum.

Are you editing the Default HUD or did you make your own HUD? This is usually because the Use For tab is improperly configured for one or more of your HUD layouts and/or you are not selecting the proper HUD from the Choose Configuration: drop-down menu. The Default HUD should be set to a site you never play, and make sure none of the other layouts have conflicting rules. Any time HM isn't sure which HUD to use, it will revert to the Default HUD (even if it is set to a site you never play).
