View Full Version : HM causes freeze at Bwin

Hello,

just I have mentioned in the title after I have started HM Bwin client freezes in 10 sec. I have used HM with Bwin for years without a problem like that. I upgreaded HM today, but I had the problem before and after the installation too. I would appreciate any quick suggestions that could help me to solve the problem. I have Windows 7 Ultimate for a month and HM run fine until today. While I am waiting for any idea I am searching the other threads, have found some answers I thought could help me, but nothing has changed: like "import just from the folder that contains the hands, no subfolders" and run HM and Poker client as admin. I wonder if Bwin has made a little update in the last 24 hours and that may cause the freeze after HM auto import is started.
Thank you for your help in advance.

Exactly the same problem with ongame. I start 6 tables, everthing is fine. I launch the "start auto import", and it crashes in 2 to 10 seconds. It never happenned before (2 months i'm playing on ongame), and I'm using windows 7 too!

Yup, thanks guys, it seems that Bwin made an upgrade and HM is not compatible with it yet. I hope for a quick answer from HM guys. :)

Ok I did this: Please try table preferences -> force on top, and I don't check the "active tables only". Only check the force on top works for me !

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Beta.exe

1) Export any custom HUD configs and Copy/Paste your \Config folder before deleting any files as a backup.
2) Close HM and the Table Manager.
3) Delete your existing HUD Prefs files, so HM will rebuild them to default.
4) Delete > \Holdem Manager\Config\prefs.xml, pospref.txt, and pospref2.txt, and pospref4.txt and exenames.txt
5) Start HM< Auto Import, Open the Table Manager, and test on a single cash table.

Try the table finder again - FAQ]FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Configuring Table Finder to Show HUD (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/60/ConfiguringTableFinderToShowHUD) - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Configuring Table Finder to Show HUD

Make sure you follow the directions exactly.

Pick the table name in the table finder window to highlight it

Left-click and drag the red X to that table window

Click OK

go to hud options > table preferences and tick forceontop and if the problems with the crash still persist please checkout this FAQ FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Crashing Problems With The Hud Or Holdem Manager (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/363/Crashing+Problems+With+The+Hud+Or+Holdem+Manager)

thanks for this, it works. But I hope there is still work going on to get around the ongame update is it really slows you down having to click on the table to get the stats when you are overlappin.

If it crashes its probably a different issue, the other issue causes a freeze, please see this FAQ and post the results in a new thread FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Crashing Problems With The Hud Or Holdem Manager (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/363/Crashing+Problems+With+The+Hud+Or+Holdem+Manager)

It freezes the poker client (and holdemmanager/tablemanager freezes) and then it crashes as a result.

If you tick the "force on top" option you are NOT allowed to overlap the tables! Not even by a tiny bit!

If you need to overlap tables (because of masstabling or w/e) you have to tick not just the "force on top" option but the "on active tables only" option as well.

I understand that, its not fit for purpose though, you have to click on the table for the hud to show and it hinders how fast you can play (we already have no timebank etc).

Im not takin a swipe at HEM, they are very quick at reacting to changes, but I just wanted to make it clear that this fix doesnt work well enough to be considered a permanent fix for people who have overlapping tables.

Thanks

Totally agreed!
It's just slightly better than having no HUD, but nowhere near a longterm solution.

Hi there

I had this problem too recently. Before using Vista with old Holdemmanager, it fine with 2 tables or more. But recently brought a new PC and re install HM and this is what happen.

When 1 table every is normal, when 2 or more tables, the Bwin table freeze and turn white. Any solutions to it for Bwin guys.

Thank you

At the moment table preferences -> force on top is the only workaround.

We are working on a better solution.

Hi HM

Thanks, it work now but doesn't look fine when force it on top because can't overlap table.

Anyway, could you send me an email when HM do an upgrade to the software to settle this issue or bug... thanks

Hi,

if you stack or overlap tables you might want to choose the "only active table" option too which is under forceontop.

Dear HM guys,

HM "works" with "tricks" in the table preferences, but it is not the best solution to see the hud only on the active table, I used to watch the inactive table's stats a lot of time when actually no action was given. I am very eagerly waiting for a proper solution, could you tell me something positive about the outcoming a new release of HM in that aspect?

Thank you in advance.

So overlapping is allowed now, but it still doesn't work if you turn off "force on top"! Which still is sub-optimal!

Hi HM

After I download the updated version of HM that you gave on the thead, Bwin poker 2 or more tables are now working fine but I had a new problem now.

On and off, when HM is running, my computer will crash (Maybe 4 out of 10 times).
It will go into a 'Blue Screen' with lots of words in it, then it will restart like 5 seconds later and then promted me to start window normally or safe mode.
Do you know what the reason or is that a bug?
Could you let me know where to download the latest version which is free from the above problem

Thank you

netsrak
11-21-2010, 07:41 AM
This type of crashes is always caused by defect hardware (RAM for example). HM uses a lot of ressources during the auto-import. So under normal conditions your computer may work but under heavy use it will crash.

61Chris61
11-21-2010, 11:10 AM
Thank you for your reply.
But this crash problem does not happen before with my Old Holdem Manager version, it only happen recently after I installed the updated version that settle the Bwin 2 tables problem.

My computer is a new one that I just brought 2 months ago

Manufacturer : Dell
Model : Precision M4500
Processor : Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU M620 @ 2.67GHz
Installed Memory (Ram): 8.00GB
System Type : 64-bit Opertaing System

So what will be the solution?

netsrak
11-21-2010, 12:22 PM
I don't think a application will cause a blue screen. So please run a hardware diagnostic.

61Chris61
11-22-2010, 05:44 AM
Hi there

I had just run the hardware diagnostic test twice. All pass and my system is working normally.

What should I do next?
It is Holdemmanager new version has a bug?
Should I uninstall HM and reinstall a new updated version? (My currently is 1.11.05A
If yes, please provide a the new link and my ex hands will still be there after I reinstall right?

Hi there again

I had not update to the old version you gave me yet.
Just a few more infor on the blue screen error.
When the blue screen appear, this is the error code is what I can see

DOes that mean anything to you?
Should I still updated to the old version for HM?

Thank you

Blue Screens error are unrelated to HoldemManager/PostgreSQL, but are either caused by:
-corrupt RAM (memory issue)
-bad clusters on the harddisk (where attempting to read HoldemManager/PostgreSQL data crashes the whole system)

If that's the case... you should consider to:
-FORMAT your harddisk/reinstall Windows or
-Run a CHKDSK/Scandisk, etc. to see if they can fix the problem
