hello sir


..good day.
...i'm harold a freshmen user of postgre
...i humbly asking your help sir about the error i encountered after i installed the postgre 9.0
...the error is
Start DoCMD(net stop PG_SERVICENAME)...
System error 1060 has occured.
The specified service does not exist as an installed service
The restart command returned an error (2)

Hi

When do you get this error, might need to reinstall postgreSQL and you can use our combo installer on Hold'Em Manager Poker Tracking and Analysis Software (http://www.holdemmanager.com) in the download section as PostgreSQL 9 is just released so there still maybe issues with it

Yep, I agree Morny, you should'nt be such in a hurry to move from PostgreSQL 8.4 to 9.

You should uninstall PostgreSQL 9, reboot and install regular PostgreSQL 8.4 ;)

I guess the developpers here already have a bunch of work. They can't supply fully working and tested release of HEM PostgreSQL 9 compatible as soon as PostgreSQL 9 is released, I think it's common sense :D

And many times, new db releases don't supply so much changes, and cost most comp ressources.

In case of minor version upgrade (8.4 to 8.4x or 8.5), no problem, but for this fresh new PostgreSQL 9, you should definitely wait and let other people beta test it :D
