I'm performing a manually vacuum of a very large DB and it's still going after 36hrs. The message at the bottom changes periodically and there's no error messages, so I'm assuming it's still working properly. Is this normal? And secondly, if I were to cancel and restart at a later time, would the vacuum pick up where it left off? Thanks.

The vacuum goes over all the indexes one by one.
It should QUICKLY vacuum the small indexes, the big indexes take a lot longer.

You're free to CANCEL the vacuum at any time.

If you restart at a later time, it will NOT pick up where it left off, but it should vacuum the already-vacuumed indexes a LOT faster.
(it's similar as when you defrag a harddisk that has already just been defragged)
