I purchased a sony vaio laptop online that should arrive today for around $950. I bought it because i could get 1080p which is 1920x1080 resolution. Other specs are i3-370 processor, 4gb ram and 320gb 7200 rpm hard drive. I play on my desktop with a 20.1 monitor and its 1600x1200 resolution and i don't stack or cascade tables. I basically let them load and like it that way because i can see the action at 4 tables and more tables behind it pop up when its my turn there. My old laptop is very slow and has 1280x800 resolution. I play 20 tables at a time with HEM and HUD on. Of course the tables are big on my laptop screen and once i have 2 tables showing, it overlaps which i don't mind.

The thing i am a bit worried about is some people tell me 1920x1080 resolution would be so small for the text for a 15.5 laptop. I am thinking is this upgrade to 1080P on my laptop basically useless? How will the tables look when i have say 4 tables showing with HEM and TN on? Would it be too tiny? I thought that 1080P would be good because i would have much more space and tables would be bit smaller but i would still see the cards and HUD stats well but am i wrong here? The default for most laptops with 15.5 is 1368x768 resolution and i heard the tables would look real big correct? Can someone who multitables on a 1080P 15.5 laptop tell me how it is for them? Is it better than the 1368x768 resolution?

The reason i ask this is because i felt like i spent lot more money on this laptop if 1080p is useless for me since all i will do on the laptop is play 20 tables with HEM and TN on and surf the web and do NOTHING ELSE. I'm thinking if i should return the laptop and get something cheaper instead.

I see this laptop for $379.99 on amazon on a acer aspire and it has 1368x768 resolution. But would this be sufficient enough to run 20 tables with HEM and HUD on? I would save about $550 if i return the sony and get this one.

As I said in your "Is this a good laptop for poker thread":

Just use half your current screen (to see if you can still read all the info on the tables) when you're forced to resize them to the smallest size

1920x1080 will allow you to display more tables. (a Stars table can ONLY be minimized to 800x580)

Hey i will be returning this sony laptop back. I will still need to get a new laptop. Someone in a forum tells me 1080p on a 15.5 laptop is not that good because things are very small. I had a pain looking at text while i tried multitabling on the laptop.

My question is this. Can i play on pokerstars while on 1080P with 20 tables and view webpages on firefox with bigger text at the same time just as if i was using 1368x766 resolution? I changed my 1080p resolution on laptop to 1368x768 and wow viewing pages on firefox looks great because the text are bigger. Not sure if i'm asking this right but i think you know what i mean? Because i tried doing it, increasing font size while at 1080p resolution but still the letters are small.

Increase the font size. Did you increase the size twice?

Patvs, how do you increase font size? Are you talking about increasing it from small 100 percent to medium 125 percent? Or are you talking about something else? I also noticed if i try to increase it to large 150 percent... then its too big because my pokerstars table would look way too big.

Also, i tried to solve my problem of text too small in firefox by clicking ctrl and + to zoom it. It is good but do i need to do this every single time on a webpage? I mean if i go to yahoo and then zoom it, it looks great. But once i type something in and go to another site to read something, text is back to small like it was originally.

Use the VIEW--> ZOOM in the browser.

Try a different browser, that does save those settings

Even though i will return laptop back to sony, i tried playing 24 tables while tiling it 6 tables. Is 6 tables what should be done while tiling it? Its hard because cards are small but the hud area... the black seem to take a lot of space. Is there a way to make the black background of the hud smaller? It blocks the players names and the stack sizes.

Also, does anyone find 1080p while tiling tables to bit a bit strain on the eye? Someone said 1080p isn't designed to be on a 15 inch laptop and its really tough to look at the tables this way. I think it would be better to go with default resolution of 1368x766 resolution when i get another laptop right?

Also would you say it make big difference if i get 13.3 , 14.1 or 15.6 laptop if im going to have 1368x766 resolution anyway? I basically just let the tables load and will not resize them because if i do resize, the cards get real ugly.

At this price you should probably be able to find a >= 17' laptop!!

I don't want anything bigger than 15.6. 17' are way too big. I even consider 15.6 laptops big already and want to know if getting a 13.3 or 14.1 is fine.

But can anyone answer me my questions in my previous post?
