Pretty self explanatory, I am getting the "encountered a problem and needs to close" error immediately after trying to open HEM

I am running updated Windows XP and have updated to the latest version of HEM... it was working fine 2 weeks ago, I went on vacation, and now it is doing this.

Any suggestions?

I just did all that morny and got the exact same error. So it must be some compatibility issue with windows?

Go to the event viewer and under applications in there it should give an error message, can you copy and paste those details here or post a screenshot

How to open the Event Viewer in XP

There are a couple of different ways to do this.

Method One:
1. Click on Start > Run and in the Open: field enter eventvwr.msc, then click on the OK button.

Method Two:
1. Click on Start and select Control Panel.
2. Double click on Administrative Tools.
3. Double click on Event Viewer.

Under applications you should see an error that corresponds to the time of the last crash

Can you manually run a Windows Update and install every .net framework update.

XP must be updated to Service Pack 3 + latest .net framework updates
Vista to Service Pack 2 + + latest .net framework updates

---

You can also reinstall your Microsoft .NET Framework:

1) Run http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/0/e/20e90413-712f-438c-988e-fdaa79a8ac3d/dotnetfx35.exe
