Hello

When I try to begin holdem manager since two day I getting the following message while previously everything was completed:

“The following error occured when trying to open the database : Failed to establish a connection to '127.0.0.1" »

I think the problem started after the last time vista ran an update....:(

I tried starting postgresql database server in admin tools-services but I am getting an error when trying
error 1053

Any ideas how I can fix this?

PS:sorry for my bad English I am French and it’s Difficult for me. :(

Please try this: http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=34 and if it gives any further messages post the exact message

Also make sure UAC is disabled http://208.109.95.123/faq/afmviewfaq.aspx?faqid=73

Yes the problem started after the last update of vista, I read that it was an update to fix a critical leak in windows.

It is likely that the vista update caused the problem, either that or that the clock went back one hour in europe and not in usa, causing postgres to mess up.
If it is the clock problem it should fix itselve next week when clock goes back in US but it is more likely the windows update.

Hey Zert,

My holdemmanager is working again.

This is what fixed it for me:
Go to pogram files - postgreSQL - 8.x - data, and then delete postmaster.pid

After that go to control panel - administrative tools - services, find the postgressql service and then right click and start it.

I also did the things in the FAQ that Morny linked to in this thread.

Hopefully This will work for you too, if you don't understand everything I said or in the FAQ let me know and I will translate whats needed in French (Je Parlais une petit peut Francais ;) )
