Hi. I've downgrade from Win 7 to Windows XP this evening and can't install Hem (via suite with Postgres) anymore.

That's the message error that I get:

Please help me!

edit: I've disabled Kaspersky Internet Security before the instalation

See this FAQ about Kaspersky, disabling it wont do anything really it will still work away in the background. FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Using Kaspersky Internet Security 2010? (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/127/Using+Kaspersky+Internet+Security+2010%3F+)

If that doesnt work please reinstall PostgreSQL using the following instructions:

Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt > Right-Click > Run As Administrator

net user postgres /delete
Try installing this version of PostgreSQL - http://rvgsoftware.fileburst.com/Postgres_8.3.9-v1.0.7.exe

If that installer also fails try this one it should work PostgreSQL: Choose a Mirror (http://wwwmaster.postgresql.org/download/mirrors-ftp/binary/v8.2.17/win32/postgresql-8.2.17-1.zip)

Thanks

But now I cant' access the pgadmin.

At localhost:5432 the program request a password, I put "postgrespass" but it's wrong.

During installation of SQL, did you use postgrespass, or have it generate its own password?

Try deleting postgres again and run the 8.3.12 installer from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org) PostgreSQL: File Browser (http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/)
(and specific reason you prefer using 8.3.x over 8.4.x and 9.0.x?)

Hi Patvs!

I've just downloaded the suit installer and installed using next all the time. Havent set any password.

I used postgres 8.4 with my last db, and have made a backup. Do I need to use the same version to make a restore?

I really dont mind using 8.3, 8.4 or 9.0... just want to have the best one to use with hm. Tell me which one is better.

Instead of choosing next for every installation step, you must manually type in
postgrespass for the password, otherwise it will generate a random password.

There's no performance difference between SQL 8.3, 8.4, 9.0, but you can only restore a .backup to the same version of SQL the backup was created in, so I'd continue to use SQL 8.4
