Hi, I'm running Windows 7 and since I installed HEM there has been a new User Account (as in when you turn on the computer it's there next to my normal account and guest account and whatever) called "postgres". So for a couple of weeks I just ignored it but I just decided now that it can't be needed and deleted it. Well, I was wrong... Now when I try to open HEM it tells me it "Failed to establish a connection to 127.0.0.1".

How can I fix this?

Thanks, Jude.

You'll have to reinstall SQL.
And don't delete the postgres user.

You CAN HIDE the postgres user, so your computer will boot STRAIGHT into your main account. Read: Remove User Accounts From the Logon Screen in Windows Vista - How-To Geek (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/remove-user-accounts-from-the-logon-screen-in-windows-vista/)

Ok, thanks. Have you got a link for where I can download whatever I need to install? Sorry, I'm really bad at this.. I won't have to re import all my hands right?

You can download PostgreSQL here:

EnterpriseDB: Download PostgreSQL Installers (http://www.enterprisedb.com/products/pgdownload.do)

Recommended version is 8.4 as far as I know

If you install the same SQL version as before, it'll detect your old database.

SQL 8.4.1 is compatible with any 8.4.x so just download and install 8.4.4 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)

hmmm with the new one installed, when I try to open HEM it says "error: NEW DATABASE (the name of my database) does not exist"

Just create a new database and reimport your hands
