Hi

I tried to connect in pgAdmin III using "postgrespass" to vacuum and reindex my database, but when try a window pops up saying that autentication failed. As you can see from the print screens my password is "postgrespass" and I can connect in the Database control panel... It's just failing to connect to the localhost:5432 in pgAdmin III

click on Start and go to Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

* If you are on Vista, rightclick and choose "Run as Administrator".

A black box should appear. Type 'net user postgres /del' (without the quotes) and press enter.

The user is now deleted and you can (re)install PostgreSQL.
If you use postgrespass as password is should now accept the password (and leave your old database in tact)

now happens this: pgadmin III server does not listen (wich cause HM not to connect)

forget it... I have no patience for this problems... I will just uninstall both programs, clean the reg. and install again.

Thanks anyway Patvs
