When I try to purge hand history (Settings, Observed HH Configuration, Purge HH Options) I can't purge all hands. I think its because some of the options are grayed out. There are several checkboxes to save certain hands and it seems like they all would need to be cleared to delete all. But the "pot size bigger than" checkbox wont clear. As a result I can only purge about 25K of 150k hand histories. Bug? User error? Pls help...

Can you try options -> settings -> purge hands instead?

Which HM Version are you using?
Please update to our latest Beta: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Beta.exe

I did that several times by accident - it worked but i don't want to delete all the hands just the histories (ie i want to keep the stats)

I updated and had problems with the stats showing up in the HUD. Also the player names weren't showing right...

This purge option deletes the stats? Are you sure? Whenever i tested it it didn't delete the stats.

For your Hud problems - which site, which gametype?

configure the preferred seating of your Pokerclient and the seating preferences in HM accordingly
* open one Table, play at least one hand
* move the stats with the right mouse key to the correct positions
* Table manager -> Table -> Save positions
* Now you can open further tables but you will always have to play at least one hand for the stats being moved to the correct positions.

Yes, isnt that supposed to be the difference between them? "Purge Hands" deletes everything about the hands; "Purge hand histories" deletes the histories (ie whats viewable in replayer) but leaves stats.

I am playing Full Tilt, mostly rush. Patvs tried to help me out last week and installed the beta HEM, new SQL, messed with config settings, etc. Things got worse and worse and finally he said to reinstall everything, which I did. So now it all works again except I can't delete the hand histories. So pls just try to help me with that...

In the video, you use settings--> purge hands, so you lose all the hands, stats, etc. (therefore it shows "na": not available when you refresh the screen)

So what happens when you use:
settings: observed HH configuration: purge handhistories

OK, here is that video. I deselect all options that I can (I can't deselect one of them) so all hand histories should be deleted, but it says only 25K hands will be deleted. And I have 140k+ hands (& I show you that too). I want to delete all histories...

Update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Beta.exe

You're still using 1.11.04 in the video.

---

It purged 25K hands.. you have 140K hands.
After the purge, can you still replay 115k out of those 140K hands?
(test it on a couple of random hands)

We'll try to add a fix for Observed HH Configuration, where you can also select the STAKE

I tried updating to the beta about a week ago and it caused all sorts of problems (mostly playing rush poker at FT).

Yes when I delete the 25k hands I can still see history for most of the 145k hands (matter of fact I couldn't find any that were gone, altho they are probably in there somewhere). I don't understand why I can't deselect that one option; are you saying thats a bug in the current release?

I'm just trying to get HEM to run faster. I ran thru the performance tips and deleting the hand histories seems to be the only thing left that might help speed things up.

If you're only doing this for performance gain, don't.
Purging vs not purging 150k hands, isn't going to make any difference.

When you purge observed HH configuration, it's normal you can still see ALL the hands / cards, etc.. The ONLY thing you can no longer do is REPLAY the hand.

The only bug in the current release (both 1.11.04 and .05) is you can't select which STAKE you'd like to purge when doing a purge observed HH configuration.
