View Full Version : Tuning feature causes big problems

I tried using the DB tuning feature in 1.11.04. Unfortunately, it made it so Postgresql was unable to start. After a lot of searching, I figured that the tuning had changed the owner/permissions of the postgresql.conf file (both the backup and the new version I think so when I just moved the old version back, it still wouldn't start) and Postgresql was unable to read the file. Changing the owner of the file to postgres and giving read permission fixed this.

Anyway, I'm guessing a lot more people are going to get nailed by this. I would recommend you remove this feature or fix it so it doesn't do this.

I'm using Vista and Postgresql 8.3

Thanks for the feedback. I think this is already fixed in the latest Betas: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Beta.exe

Our Postgres updates have not made it into the latest build. We're working on updates right now and will hopefully have this one solved as well.

I have got the same problem!

After a tuning, everything is massed up!

Postgres server doesn't listen!

It shows "The server doesn't accept connections: the connection library reports
could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5432?" and other stuff.

Hold'em Manager does not start either, so I'm not able to restore.

I have the lastest version: 1.11.05 and my OS is Vista and de postgres is version 8.2

PLEASE HELP MEEEEEEEEEE!

Restore the original configuration file pg_hba.conf and reboot your computer

The tuning tool automatically generates a backup.

Navigate to the postgresql subfolder data and there should be backups of the file pg_hba.conf.
