The optimizing tool is still a beta. We are working on fixes for the next releases.

Please use the pgadminIII tool instead: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Vacuum Analyze Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+)

Ok.

When accessing version 8.4 get following error message:

Server doesn't listen
The server doesn't accept connections: the connection library reports
could not connect to server: Connection refused (0x0000274D/10061) Is the server running on host "127.0.0.1" and accepting TCP/IP connections on port 5433?

Have added this port to exceptions.

However on pqadmin list I can see postgresql database server 8.2. This I can access and do maintenance.

I recently lost DB and tried to upgrade to 8.4. Is there way to see what version Im running with HEM because if Im still using 8.2 everything is fine, I think ?

Please check in the windows services which postgresql service is the active one.
(start->run->services.msc)

Stick to 8.2

Try to install 9.0 (instead of 8.4.4) to a different port.
And see if you can connect to it.

update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Beta.exe

Connect to 9.0 and reimport all your hands into the empty database....

or stick to 8.2.
You only had connection issues with 8.4 right?
Did you lose your old 8.2 database? If so, just reimport everything into 9.0.
If not, it's up to you if you want to reimport everything again. Afterwards you can delete your old SQL 8.2 database in pgadminIII

Reimport done with Postgresql 9 and I deleted old db from 8.2. Everything works, thank You again...

Now Can I uninstall earlier postgresql versions 8.2 and 8.4 ?

yep, should be no problem if everything is running now.

After the removal check the installation folders - you can delete the old data folders too.
