Ran defrag after exporting hands from PokerTracker and importing them into HM: I was hoping that clean up would speed things up a little.

However, the defrag report listed 11 files in \Program Files\PostgresSQL\8.33data that would not defrag. The files range in size from 93mb up to 941mb and I think they are the hhs I imported.

I am running XP.

Any suggestions on how I might get XP to defrag these files?

Thanks

Stop the PostgreSQL service and kill all postgres.exe in the taskmanager and defrag again

I did as you suggested and turned off PostgreSQL and killed the postgre.exe files in taskmanager, but the files still cannot be defraged. I ran chkdsk and ran defrag again, but the postgre files still cannot be defragmented.

I would appreciate any additional suggestions.

thanks

Not sure ive not seen this before, can you try setting the postgreSQL service to manual and turn it off then rebooting the PC just in case something is causing permission problems or if theirs hidden postgreSQL processes and run the defrag before opening any other programs after the reboot

When finsihed turn on the PostgreSQL service and set it to automatic btw
