It's been going on for a while, on an XP SP3 CPU i never had problem with prior to this. mouse takes ages to get from one table to the next, tables freeze up periodically which times me out. Am using table ninja as well, but it works perfect when i play without running HEM. Once i start up HEM, the lag begins again.

I've taken the following steps:

- purge hands
- vacuum analyze database
- reindex database
- Defragged
- deleted log files in pg_log (without deleting the folder)
- unchecked pre-fetch

none of these has made the problem go away.

both HEM and Stars are fully updated.

Help! :)

What sort of CPU, how much RAM?
How large/ and how old is the harddisk?
Which SQL version are you using?

When you manually run a Windows Updates, are there any updates you can install? Install all critical updates and .net framework updates.

Do all the other steps of the top 10 performance tips thread. (editing postgresql.conf, removing WinnerName, WinnerCards and WinnerWon from the Hands View Column Selector, etc.

Have Windows Task Manager open next time you play. When it lags, which program is using 100% CPU, or is it caused by harddisk activity
