I had to reinstall my computer. It is a longer story, but because I believed I could always bring my machine back with Norton Ghost, I didn't back up Hold'em Manager; but it didn't work - Duh :(. I will not trust in Ghost again.

Now all I have is a copy of the folder called “data” from my old postgresql 8.3 database. I used it half a year ago. I want to reconstruct my Hold’em Manager database. Can this be done from the “data” folder?

Any help is much appreciated.

We have a FAQ for this: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Reinstall PostgreSQL Preserving Old Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/71/Reinstall+PostgreSQL+Preserving+Old+Database)

Thanks a lot netsrak! It actually worked - My database is restored and intact - super cool! And a relatively easy maneuver.

Now all I need to do is recreate my HUD popup. Is the a seperate HUD file stored anywhere? If it is stored anywhere within the Holdem Manager main folder and subfolders, I will have lost it, during the reinstallation. But if it is stored externally in say user\documents or user\AppData\* I might have saved it somewhere. Does the HUD file (if such a file exists) have a subname (filetype name), so I can search for it in my documents?

They're stored in the HoldemManager/config folder
.pop files are the HUD popups
default.txt (.txt files) are the HUDs

Thanks,

OK, I have lost my old HUD popup then. I have to live with that, and make a new one. I am glad I have my database intact though - more important after all.
