View Full Version : Do I need to manually vacuum+analyze my database?

My system crashed due to a power outage. When I rebooted I thought it might be a good idea to vacuum+analyze my database. But when I clicked on vacuum-analyze, it took me a web page which I did not completely understand.

Is the vacuum analyze now performed automatically in 11.04?
Does this mean I never have to do a manual vacuum+analyze?

Thanks,
jonathan

You need to use the postgresql tool pgadminIII to run the vacuum/analyse:

I am using 1.11.04.
I followed the instructions in the FAQ on optimization and got the following
error message.

[9/20/2010 12:27 AM] error: Attempted to divide by zero.[9/20/2010 12:27 AM] error: at HoldemManagerDatabaseMaintenance.MainScreen.optimi zeAsync()[9/20/2010 12:27 AM] Error...please contact support@holdemmanager.com

Our database optimization tool is still a beta which doesn't work for some users.

Please use the manual vacuum solution explained in the FAQ instead.
