Error message for PostgreSQL

I was in the middle of playing a session and Pokerstars froze up on me. I had to restart the computer and when it booted back up I got this message:

postgres.exe -- Corrupt File

The file or directory C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.3\data\global\pgstat.stat is corrupt and unreadable. Please run the Chkdsk utility.

What's this about?

I was having problems earlier this month with Pokerstars freezing at times while running Holdem Manager, but I went through the top 10 tips for enhancing performance, and for the past two weeks it has been running very well.

Please help.

It looks like either a bad cluster on your harddisk--> causing a corrupt database.

Run a CHKDSK and SCANDISK on your harddisk.
And reinstall SQL (if you run the SQL 8.4.4 installer it will only update your installation, KEEPING your database)

If the problem returns, also create a NEW empty database
