I'm building a budget pc,
CPU £70
M-Board £80
Case/Psu £90
DVD/BD £50
HARD DRIVE £???
and was wondering what hard drive/s to buy,WD caviar black,Seagate Barracuda 7200.12, SSD 64GB/128GB or a combination of two.
Will the SSD really make that much difference to HM against the cost.
Barracuda500GB £30
WD Caviar Black500GB £41
SSD 64GB £95
SSD 128GB £135

If you multi-table + have (or plan to have) a multi million hand database.... plus you currently can't stand the time it takes to: PURGE many many hands, vacuum/analyse/reindex/backup/restore the database, run a report, or even display something simple like last month's graph, etc. a SSD is a must.

Though note... some budget SSDs aren't that fast.
Best two are Intel X25-M G2 Postville and OCZ Vertex 2.

You can always could put in a Western Digital Caviar Black... and later upgrade with the SSD?

Txs Patvs, think I'll get a WD Black caviar 64MB cache, and save for a descent sized SSD.
