hi,
i just reset (format c: and so on!) my desktop computer and now, i would like to reinstall HEM on it, and would like to use my existing database.
This database is shared between this desktop computer and my notebook.
But i dont know how to do the install ! More than that, when i install postgreSQL on my cleaned PC, it's 8.4 version, and i have 8.3 one on my notebook...
Please help me, i dont know what to do !
Thank you.

uninstall SQL 8.4
Install SQL 8.3 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)

well, i downloaded this version, but when i try to install it on my computer (so, sharing my old database on my external drive, as explained in "how do i setup HM to share one database between 2 computers") i have an error message :
"the exisiting data directory (date/time setting: floating-point numbers) is not compatible with this server (date/time setting : 64-bit integers)"...
what should i do??? :confused::(:confused:

This means 8.3.11 is the wrong version.
I suggest you try 8.3.10: PostgreSQL: File Browser (http://www.postgresql.org/ftp/binary/v8.3.10/)

well,
i downloaded 8.3.10 version. I launch install and when i have to enter service name, account name, domain and password, i have the following error message : "invalid username specified : echec d'ouverture de session : nom d'utilisateur inconnu ou mot de passe incorrect."
I dont understand, i entered postgres as account name and postgrespass as password, as i did it when i installed it on my notebook (1 year ago) but it doesnt work :(
Help me please :(

click on Start and go to Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt

* If you are on Vista, rightclick and choose "Run as Administrator".

A black box should appear. Type 'net user postgres /del' (without the quotes) and press enter.

The user is now deleted and you can (re)install PostgreSQL.
