hi guys, i wanted to move my base to another hd coz of running low on space on C. I followed the instructions from here exactly: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Move Database to Another Hard Drive or Partition (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition)

however, after all steps and reboot, postgre has problems running. It starts and stops in cycles. Error messages:

After starting it from administrative tools i get: "The PostgreSQL Database Server 8.3 service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service."

If i go to HEM, i got: failed connection to 127. ... then at database panel control i get this fancy loop:

1, " A connection to PostgreSQL could not be made. Would you like to have HEM attempt to start the sevice?" - yes
2, "Sorry, HEM was unable to start the service." -ok
3, "HEM has started the service. Please try again." -ok

now back to 1,

oh, and i have WinXP pro 2002 serv pack 3

many thx

Move the data folder back to its origin location.
Undo all the changes.
Perform a database backup via pgadminIII
Uninstall postgresql and reinstall it on the new partition.
Create a new database via pgadminIII and restore your backup
