I moved to a new PC yesterday and restored the db backup from my old PC. The restore seems to work fine. When I run HEM it wants to build a player cache. I can see players and number of hands in the "Change" dialogue but when I select a player everything is empty.

Next time I restart HEM it wants to build the cache again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

update to http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmUpdate_1.11.04_Internal.exe

Did you create the .backup in SQL 8.3? (and you now are using SQL 8.4)???
Or did you create the back in an old HoldemManager version like 1.09?

If YES-->
Create a NEW database in HoldemManager--> and just reimport your old archive folder.

Appearently I was using 8.3. Was pretty sure I was using 8.4 on my last system as well.

So, there's no way to fix this except importing the archive? I would like to extract notes from the old >DB since I've been taking all notes in HEM for the past 8 months.

How about exporting the old 8.3 db to an SQL textfile? will be huge but is it worth trying?

Just manually install SQL 8.3.

And restore the database.
You can download SQL 8.3.11 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org)
so you'll have your notes... bonus/rakeback info, etc.
