I have decided to start backing up all my poker stuff at the end of each month so that if my computer crashes i wont lose everything. Does it make sense to just export all my hands at the end of each month and save them to a flash drive? Exporting the hands wont remove them from my current database will it?

Yeah, HM also sends the original files to a processed folder, might be easier to do a search of that folder for dates between for example 1st Oct - 31Oct and then copy and paste those to a flash drive because when you use export you export all the files so after a couple of months youll have alot of duplicate HH's
