Will my rake stats on the HEM be affected by this change?

I guess as nobody knows the calculations to work out actual rake, my HEM rake stats will be very distorted

Or will it make no difference to my HEM? I guess it will

Can you explain your question in more detail?

Your rake should not be affected by a different rakeback deal.

The new essence system on Ongame intends to reward "Losing Players" by giving them more of the rake generated, The winning players will get less rake "In the pot"

Players are categorised into differing groups, dependant on wether they are winners or losers, I think there are 6 groups, but Ongame wont say.

The rake is now distibuted dependant upon the category of player you are up against. There cant be a better explanation as Ongame just wont say exectly what it is.

The category you fall into depends on your results over a 90 day period, making it even harder to figure, as no player will know how they have been categorised

Sorry cant be more of a help

I take the below to mean the total rake taken from the table per hand is unchanged, but it will be impossible (near enough) to calculate player points

Is that how you read it ?

>> Ongame Network The Essence of Ongame Network?s new poker business model (http://www.ongamenetwork.com/news/the-essence-of-ongame-networks-new-poker-business-model)

Essence is a real-time algorithm that is first being applied to network-wide cash games. From 15 July 2010, the Essence fuelled business model captures the truer value of all players by factoring in style of play and relative performance over the previous 90 active days. Essence adjusts the player mix by making it more profitable for network partners to attract and retain the most valuable players while still being able to welcome everyone to the online tables.

This valuation change is endorsed by Ongame Network’s partners who support the long-term sustainability it brings to the network. The generation of player points, the common currency on which partners’ loyalty programs are based, is now linked to the Essence model.

Sort of, the trouble is they dont explain it anywhere. I dont care about points as i dont get them. Well i don't think i do, but i do get excellent rake from about 60/100K of hands a month

If the rake is based on the points, them i am confused

But as far as i can tell on 2+2 the rake is seriously affected

No - it's important to be exact with the words ~ you do not get rake surely ?

THE WAY I THOUGHT IT WORKS

** The poker site takes a rake from the pot in the middle of the table at the end of each hand - for each hand where the pot is big enough to qualify as rakeable

** There's usually a maximum possible rake per hand at a given stake - it's capped

** The amount of rake that ongame takes off the table isn't going to change by even 1c

** If you've signed up to a poker site via a 3rd party affiliate the affiliate will give you back a % of the rake you've 'paid' as 'rakeback'

** Not all sites allow the above. I know that PokerStars do not & I thought that ongame was the same ?

** I thought that ongame ran a 'loyalty program' & what will change is the value of the 'player points' they award various types of players
(I take this to mean certain players will get more PP's set against their share of the table rake as a reward for being more loyal to the network or skin.
I also get the impression that fishy players who grind will do well ~ which is fine because it eventually gets back into the poker economy
Ongame just want this fish money going back into the ongame poker economy & not a.n.other poker site economy)

** These player points are not (strictly speaking) 'rakeback'

Have I made an error in the above ?
