View Full Version : Switching sites, create new database?

I am going to start playing Full Tilt as well and would like to know if it is recommended that I create a new database. My concern is that hand histories of players that coincidentally have the same name might not reflect the right person? Did that make any sense?

Also, if I should create a new database, do I do that through Postgres or through Holdem Manager?

Thanks in advance

1] If you plan to play site x & ftp at the same time the HH's will all go to the DB you have active at the time

2] If you plan to play site x & ftp at different times & have 2x DB's you will have to remember to switch DB's

3] Also the poker client HH folder can take 15 minutes to clear out after you've finished a session. So if you don't leave the DB open for 15 minutes after you've finished playing & then you open the other DB you can find that the HH's go to the wrong DB from your previous session

4] With multiple DB's you can't analyse you stats in totality

CONCLUSION: One DB is better
WHAT I DO: The exact opposite. I have different DB's for different game types because I'm not satisfied with the ability of HM to filter game types

A 'thanks in advance' seems weird to me, but cash in advance doesn't
Why is that ? :)

Many MANY thanks for your tips and advise. I'm thinking I will just create a 2nd database, I don't plan on playing both sites at the same time (also huge thanks for mentioning the 15 minute wait). This is kind of a test run of full tilt anyways to see how the rakeback works out compared to PS... I'm sick of playing bonus tournaments for tournament dollars.

++ For the help and sorry there is no cash advance on this offer.

Now if I can just fix my HUD... I had tried modifying some stats and did some color schemes / changes of text size and now its stuck and will not change to anything else. I've never been more aggravated!

Cheers!
