Its says in the video to copy Holdemmanager folder, but does this include the tourney results, notes, note icons, rakeback, bonuses? Or I have to manually export them all. In the video he only showed the HUD.

And another thing since its a new install, should I go for Postgress 8.4 to import my exported hands?

Regarding backup and moving database

If your doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:

Hi pokernoob - This is the stuff I don't know enough about that maybe you need to know
I reckon a moderator will be along shortly to correct my mistakes :)

###
My Comments:

** 8.3 or 8.4?:
I don't think there's much difference between 8.3 & 8.4 (I've used both)
** Backup/Restore via HM:
If you are on 8.3 I think you maybe can restore to 8.4
** Backup/Restore via pgAdmin III:
If you are on 8.3 I think you have to restore to 8.3
** HM versus pgAdmin III method
I think the two methods produce different file type so don't use one method to backup & the other method to restore :)
** 50MB HM/postgreSQL Combo Installer on the HM download page:
This is the easiest way to get the programs onto your new pc, but the postgreSQL in the combo is 8.4

###
MY CONCLUSION:

I like the convenience of just downloading the combo installer
I like the convenience of moving notes & full results across in one hit
So I think I would try the backup & restore feature to move to a new PC

BUT...

I would first want to be sure that the HM method allows 8.3 > 8.4
& I think I remember reading that you must make sure both comps on same locale or at least English ?
