Hey guys,

I just want to check to make sure I don't make more problems for myself than I need to.

Can I use the old postgres from PT3, or do I need to install with the HEM combo install?

Also, I want to do the 15 day trial to see which I like better...is there an option later on during the install where you decide this?

Thanks,
-Jed

Hi, you can use the same postgreSQL, youll just need to use the same login credentials for postgreSQL and also will need to create a new database. The free trial ends after 15 days, after which point when you start HM it will ask you to register.

Since your a new user I know Holdem Manager can be daunting when you use it first however thats to be expected with a product with some many features, filters and options but the more effort you put in to learn the more you will get in return. Of course you may just want to use it to do the basics and if so Holdem Manager will still give you the tools to help you improve your game.

Heres some guides to get you going:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Holdem Manager Quick Start Guide (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/21/Holdem+Manager+Quick+Start+Guide)

After setting up those basic things you should be able to play and start using the hud. A common issue is for the stats not to line up properly, you can move the stats to where you like by right clicking and dragging them but also make sure you have preferred seating setup correctly if your using it on the poker site. Hi Morny,

I actually installed HEM and the postgreSQL from the combo install. I had to change the pw to dbpass, but other than that everything seemed to go ok until I finished and actually went to launch HEM.

I emailed the support contact from here...I'm not sure if you have access to that or not for all the info from my clipboard. HEM would not let me get started...something to do with running for the first time as an administrator or something, but when I try I get an unhandled exception or something.

Any suggestions?

By the way, thank you for all the links...I hope you have those saved somewhere for new to HEM people and didn't go through all that work just for me.

Thanks,
-Jed
