purging

i tried purging for a specific date, but that doesnt seems to work.
after the purge the hands on the specified date still appear in my database.
I want to completely remove all data for 2 specified days, how do i go about that?

Same is happening to me:(. The Purge works well without the date filters, but when I try to purge hands between 2 specific dates it starts the process but says that no hands were purged :confused: when I have 100% sureness the database contains hands between those dates.

Correct this please because its a very important functionality when you are running out of disk space.

The purge function is buggy in the latest release. Please use an older version or wait for our next release which will fix this.

btw. will a purge on specific dates also purge sng's that i havent imported a summarie for?

Yes. When will it be the new release? At your site release 1.11.03 was announced to yesterday and already by auto-update, but correct me if I'm wrong, nothing was updated because my HM still says 1.11.02b. :(

Can you say please which one of the previous versions you dispose at this forum was the last version that does not have the purged hands date filters bug so I can downgrade 1.11.02b?

guess you guys are busy bugfixing;)
but knowing a date for a new release will effect my decision for downgrading.
how you go about downgrading? do you need to delete the current HEM or can you just install an older version over the current one?

i used options--> purge hands
after purge i vacumed as suggested and restarted Hem....the hands were gone but the stats were still there. I think in another post i read that this would also remove the stats but it did not. waiting for the cache rebuilder is a long wait as i remember correctly from some posts. so how do i remove the stats for a certain date along with the hands?

you have 2 options to remove stats of purged hands:

Filter out hands from before a certain date

Export all the hands from the purged DB (stats are not exported)

Create a new DB

Import the exported hands into new DB
if all is well delete the old DB

Because purge is now 'buggy' I think If I want to get a smaller DB I will leave purge alone & just export/new DB/import using date filters

i want to delete all hands older than 12month except the ones i played. what should i do???

Current release has some sort of bug in the purge function
I advise you to wait until 1.11.03 is an official release (end of the week) before purging
Download 1.11.03, Install, Reboot

Open HM > HM Menu Bar > Options > Settings > Purge Hands

Select the options in the dialog pop-up to suit your requirements
For you this would include...
** 'Do not delete hands played by:' > check the box & choose your screen name by clicking the 'Change' button
** 'Date Ranges' > Click the bottom of the two radio buttons & adjust the dates so the left field is old enough to include the oldest hands in your DB & the right field is 12 months ago
** Make sure all the other options are appropriate !
** Click 'Purge Hands' button

NOTES:
** The hands that you want gone are now gone, but the old stats are still in your DB & will influence the stats displayed in the HUD
If that bothers you then you have two options [see my previous post in this thread]
** After a purge it's a good idea to reboot, vacuum analyse, re-index, stop postgreSQL service, stop anti-virus & other progs, defrag & reboot
