I am also interested in knowing how many computers are licensed for use with the purchase of Hold'em Manager?

I just downloaded the trial yesterday and have found it to be an excellent program and would like to be able to use it on both my home pc and my laptop without having to purchase the program twice.

Fortunately its not very detailed, you just start Holdem Manager enter the same code you used on the other PC by clicking register and entering your name and then it will ask you to use PC1 or PC2, use whichever one is unused and press ok and voila.

You can use the same license on up to 2 pcs that you personally own, you cant share a code with a friend as it will detect simultaneous use and lock the codes

Thanks for the reply Morny I appreciate it.

I actually found another post mentioning importing/exporting databases between computers (nice feature by the way) so assumed you were allowed to use the program on at least 2 computers, nice to have an assumption confirmed for once :) .

Cheers

Regarding backup and moving database

If your doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.

We have a backup and restore feature within Holdem Manager that makes it easy for you to backup all your settings, hand histories and files.

This is a new feature and there are some compatibility issues with it so if you have any problems you can do this manually by following the instructions below:

Ok thanks, so moving stuff across will still also leave the hand histories in original HEM too?

Yep, backup and export doesn't affect the data in the database.

Started watching the video and it looks like I've come unstuck at the very first hurdle! I have no "back up and restore" option in my file tab :-/

I've just gone to export so it wud seem it's just straight forward take the exported files and put onto new laptop, sounds pretty straight forward, don't really know where back up restore comes into it...

Now I can't send the folder of hh files as one whoole lump either by email or any other uploading to a host becuase for some reason I have to select each file seperately. How would I switch the entire folder from my pc to laptop instead of mind numblingly going thru every file? I may have a bluetooth option as a later date if that is a way.

just exporting the hand histories might not be sufficient, they dont contain notes, tournament summaries, bonuses etc but it will still have all the stats if you choose that method

Anyway just use a CD and burn the files to it or put them on a USB stick

Ok so have registered now it's asking for a serial number. Where do I find that?

morny

If you still have access to HM go to Help > Registration and show serial and write that down and use it, otherwise email sales@holdemmanager.com and they will reissue it

This is driving me insane why is nothing ever straight forward??!?!?! Sorry to be a pain. I have backed up for some reason the file is hem backup.hembk. Tranferred it across to laptop using an mp3 player but hol em manger wont find it as a file to import and nothing opens it up....?????

I goto restore as shown in the video, pick the file and select to start restore and it just says hold em manger has stopped working, check onn line solution and close program or just close program. it's windows 7 so don't know if that's anything to do with it
