I have eventually changed to a new PC with windows 7,when im running a scan whilst playing on Stars i cant do anything other than hit the big buttons in their software(bet/fold/call etc),this wasnt happening in XP.

Which Firewall, and Anti-Virus are you using?

Please update to the latest beta - http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/HmUpdate_Release_1.12.11_26aug2012.exe

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.

have tried all those steps still the same,i am using windows firewall and avg free antivirus

also have had two pc crashes where the screens gone white and have to turn off at the power button

Screen goes 'white': was this a Windows crash, a regular BSOD (blue screen of death), or HoldemManager would crash?
Try reinstalling HM1 to a different folder with the full installer @ http://www.holdemmanager.com/Downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

not sure about crashes,message came up that windows needed to close hm,then screen had lots of small coloured squares on it.

could upgrade to hm2,would i need to purchase a table scanner for hm2 or does the same one work ?

There won't be an upgrade fee for any HM Apps. The Table Scanner is currently free for all HM2 users while it is still in Beta mode.

To try and solve your scanner problems with HM1: Please email support@holdemmanager.com, with a link to this thread, and your forum name, so we can schedule a Teamviewer session. Download the Teamviewer Quick Support Module - http://www.holdemmanager.com/teamviewer. Please let us know what time zone you are in and what time/days are convenient for you.
