Is there a way to get specific stats on groups of players? For example, I might want to get a report on a group of players from my HEM database that have a preflop VPIP and PFR within a specified range, to determine how often the group folds to 3 bets, and 4 bets.

Is there a way to do this?

Also you could group the players that interest you into various aliases & then analyse each of the aliases

There's probably also various reports already set up, but I don't know much about them as I do the above

Not sure why you linked to this FAQs, first none appear to work on groups of players, they all give individual information on each player. Second, they are totally worthless and don't even deserved to b called FAQs. Players Windows basically says this is the Players Windows, Players WIndows Filters basically says "these are the player windows filters". A real FAQ would give you detailed information on every individual feature and statistic in each of these views, not just tell you what you can see if you weren't blind.

This is helpful, I'm still digging in to find out how helpful, but thank you for this

It would be great if a support person who did know about them could get on the thread and respond.

Loki was just trying to be his usual helpful self, and being diplomatic as well.
Straight answer is no, not possible at the moment.

As you probably found, you can filter for vpip range in the players report, but the stats column isnt editable. So the only option will be to grab groups of those players and give them an alias based on the vpip range, then you can run all kinds of reports on those groups, but I guess you need the range of stats, much like Vision shows in the graphs?

If you search, similar queries have been answered with wait for our custom reports builder, in fact here's one for ya http://forums.holdemmanager.com/custom-reports/28588-players-reports.html

If you do find a solution please post back, I'm all ears (and a somewhat overlarge nose)

Hi ya aka !

Again I appreciate your help, but I also never miss a chance to hammer the point that this excellent tool has awful documentation. Most of the manual chapters and FAQs are screen dumps with a summary of the titles of the controls, and where there is anything deeper than that it's usually hidden and hard to find somewhere on the site.

I agree there is a lot of work to do but there is an incredible amount of work that has gone into the FAQs but this software updates so much that its nearly a full time job just updating the old FAQs as it is, there is also many many hours of video FAQs which a lot of work went into and i think in general the FAQs are quite detailed although i agree we could definitely improve and we will and we do appreciate the feedback.

Also note that in HM as you navigate through the software there is an interactive FAQ link in the top right displaying relevant FAQs to the TAB your using but were regularly adding new FAQs and updating old FAQs but it takes time so i hope you'll be patient with us

I agree with you desertcat AND morny :)

I think the problem for HM is it's having to hit moving targets blindfolded - the poker clients (obviously) have no interest in telling poker software developers what their plans are regarding new games, payout structures etc

However I think the many users of HM are not sharing what they know as much as they could...

Strategy articles
Custom reports
Custom HUD layouts
(User contributed) 'How To' stuff on the post-play analytics side (outside of leakbuser & vision) which is for me the heart of HM

I see plenty of askin', but not much givin'...
I guess it's the nature of the poker beast ?

It is a shame that I have to go to 2+2 etc to learn how to drive HM

I'm not a video FAQ kind of guy, so I am probably missing out on some of your best work. I can see how they are useful if you are learning an entirely new feature/product, but usually I know how the feature works, and just want a quick answer and I don't want to sit through 10 minutes of video looking for the answer to a single question.

I think the real problem is that HEM is under-priced, it should be sold on subscription basis so you have recurring revenues to fund better documentation/support. Or you need a "pro" version/subscription so users like me who want extra hand-holding can get quick help/answers can pay for it, and those revenues can help improve documentation for all clients.
