I'm on Postgres 8.3 and my total data file is ~ 10gb.

Getting a new computer.

Should I go with Postgres 8.4 and re-import hands or stay with 8.3 and restore?

If your doing a backup and restore best to stay with the same version, if your importing the hands instead then id use 8.4

If your doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.

Seeming that the effort of moving 8.3 vs installing and reloading a new 8.4 seem about the same, does 8.4 give me anything special?

In theory it should perform better and it also has more bug fixes, ive never noticed a huge difference between the two to be honest
