I've been using HM for a loooooong time already and never had this before.

Everytime I launch HM when it says "validating" it just crashes my PC goes in a total freeze and I have to reboot my computer cause it's just completly stuck (no ctrl alt del etc).

How this happened: Today when starting HM I had the error about some prefs or something, I searched for the solution and found that I needed to delete the .xml file and so I did. Since that I never am able to use HM anymore.

I tried uninstalling, didn't work (gave me some 64bit error thing), tried updating. Update worked but didn't solve anything. Downloaded full install, deleted config folder and installed full install. Didn't solve anything. Deleted WHOLE HM folder and did complete new install, didn't solve anything...

Completly lost, think I tried every possible solution.

Make sure that your windows is uptodate (Service Packs, Windows Updates).
Make sure that Microsoft .net framework 3.5 svp 1 is installed.

Uninstall Holdemmanager using Revo uninstaller: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Using Revo Uninstaller (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/126/Using+Revo+Uninstaller+)

Download and install the full installer again.

Hi,

My Windows is up to date and so is my .net framework.

Holdem Manager is nowhere to be found in Revo Uninstaller

Ok try manually uninstalling it via control panel, completely delete the holdemmanager folder when the uninstall is complete and reinstall but first see the important info below

If your doing a clean reinstall or moving HM to a new computer you should consider the following.

See this FAQ FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Registration Benefits (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/26/Registration+Benefits) on how to reset your code

and finally

if the problem persist after that let us know

I had already done all of that...

I solved it just now though, did a windows-recovery-point thing to 3 days ago and it works again now.

Appearantly that only solved the problem for a small time. Quit playing a while now I come back want to start a session, load up HEM and again computer crash...

I have Windows 7 Ultimate if it matters

I know what the problem is now. If you install VMware HM wont work anymore.

I don't need VMware anymore so I just uninstalled and did a recovery again and HM is working again.

Installed VMware again to test and there are the crashes again when starting HM.

Maybe good for you guys to check what the problem is so you can avoid that in the future :)
