I just installed Windows 7 and now I cannot get the postgreSQL to install.
I have tried both the combo installer and going to the website, but cannot get it to work. I get this message when it looks like it almost installed it:
"sorry could not install postgresql". I have tried setting the UAC level to the lowest, but it still fails to install. What do I do?

Thanks in advance.

Please try to download and install latest Postgresql 8.4 from PostgreSQL: The world's most advanced open source database (http://www.postgresql.org).
If that doesn't work please try 8.3

Already tried installing the 8.4 version and that didn't work.
Just unstalled everything with Revo Uninstaller, but for some reason everything cannot be removed?
Then I tried installing the 8.3 version, but it says password is incorrect (which it isn't because I used used the same as yesterday where it worked, postgrespass).
What do I do, and is there a way to uninstall everything postgreSQL on my PC?

Now I even tried formatting my computer and reinstall Windows 7 and then try again, still not working. It looks like it's just about to finish, and then it tells me that it failed. This time the password was right, tried both the build in installer and version 8.3 and version 8.4 of postgreSQL.

Once again when I try and uninstall it tells me that it cannot be removed.
How do I fix this?

Before you try the next postgresql installation you need to use the postgres user.

Open a command box as administrator and type
net user postgres /delete

After this you can try a new installation.

If the postgresql installation still fails on a fresh windows 7 installation there is something that prevents the installation. Any firewall / virusscanner / other security software already installed?
