View Full Version : HEM won't respond and won't import

Hi,

For some reason now when I start HEM it says (not responding) and then a message about timing out will pop up. Also if it does start, it will have some weird picture and some icons in the middle plus it won't auto import any hands from HH. Need help, don't know what's wrong or how to fix it. Thanks Curtis

Please install the latest version: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/HmBetaUpdate.exe and if the problem persists can you post a screenshot of the exact errors

Already did the update and still won't work. How do you make a screen shot?

The message said, "The following error occurred when trying to open the database: A timeout has occurred. If you were establishing a connection, increase Timeout value in connectionstring. If you were executing a command, increase the commandtimeout value connectionstring or in your npgsql command object".

Then when you click ok the database control panel pops up

When the database control panel pops up can you connect? If you can can you create a new database FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database) and import some hands and see if the problem persist, then go back to Options > Database Management and try and start the old database and see if the problems persist with that one

No. Another big message about a connection error and a timeout has occurred pops up.

Whats weird is every once in a while it will open HEM but a little picture will show up in the middle will some icons but no hands will import. Most of the time though it says (not responding) and pops up the timeout message.

Please reboot your computer.

If that doesn't help you need to find out whether its a postgresql or a firewall problem:

Alright this is starting to get to me. I removed all the security i had on my computer, didn't work. Did the basic troubleshooting for Postgresql, didn't work. Downloaded the combo installer but it won't work right. Downloads fine, but it pops up a window that says, "Please wait while setup is loading" but does nothing. Waited for 30min and still didn't do anything. Need help getting this fixed.

Sent an email to support 2 hrs ago and haven't got a response yet. Don't know if this is normal or if they didn't get it.

He dont have only your problem to fix and the support of HM is the best i never see in my life then seat and wait little bit he help you ;)

Hey thanks Dory didn't know that ;). When I've done everything they have suggested and still can't fix it it gets a little frustrating.

Just tried to open HEM again and this time it let me get to the Database
Control Panel where I have the option to create a new database, but when I tried to create a new database the window about timing out popped up and didn't create the database.

I have same problem some month ago you need to re instal HM completly ;)
but now is very simple not like 1 years
