Hi, I bought holdem manager few days ago and I can't get HUD to pop up on my tables. I set my auto import and archive to my hand history folder. I have windows XP and I play on full tilt. I am not good with computers...so if this program is full of difficult problems it's probably not for me (are there refunds available?). Thanks...

Please check the FTP configuration: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Full Tilt Setup (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/5/Full+Tilt+Setup)

* Please try updating to the latest version 1.11.0 from the link in my signature.

* Under Vista and Windows 7 make sure that holdemmanager.exe, hmhud.exe and dbcontrolpanel.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the holdemmanager.exe, dbcontrolpanel.exe and the hmhud.exe executable and select "Run as admin" from the popup menu under compatibilty.

* If that doesn't help, please check this and answer and post the questions FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: My HUD Doesn't Work (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/48/My+HUD+Doesn't+Work)

For a refund please contact sales@holdemmanager.net

I reinstalled and started from scratch with the directions you have provided and my HUD finally works. However, whenever I am auto importing, the lag is terrible. I remember reading in the directions to leave out c:/ in the auto import folders, but I couldn't figure out how to do that. Is there a way to get rid of this lag? It froze me out of my tables a few times so it's imperative that I stop this lag.

*on a side note... Are these HUDs supposed to take up so much room? they cover up part of the table so I can't see where the button is and sometimes how much someone is betting and on the top left of each table there is a hud drop box that covers last hand, etc.

Thanks again for your help.

Can you attach your holdemmanager.config file from C:/Program Files/RVGSoftware/HoldemManager/Config folder please and ill take a look

You can configure the hud to look exactly like you want, just check out the FAQs as there is loads of FAQs on how to edit the hud FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/)

The import folder setup looks fine so not sure why your getting lagging issues, are there many hands in the C:\Program Files\Full Tilt Poker\hand history folder?

If so manually import them then move them to your archive folder and start HM, if not try the following things to see if it helps with lagging

Can you make sure your Opacity slider in Hud options > Player Preferences> Appearance TAB is 100% to the right and also do the same for the mucked cards Opacity

Also keep task manager running and have it sort by CPU in the Processes TAB and see what is using the most CPU when the lagging happens.

Try disabling as many programs as possible such as AHK scripts,Firewall, limewire,Mikogo etc and Antiviruses and if they cant be disabled make sure you add all these programs to the exceptions list such as HMhud.exe,DBcontrol panel.exe and holdemmanager.exe from the Holdem Manager folder aswell as any of the other programs that happen to be running, sometimes for example the antivirus/firewall etc scan every file thats been processed and it can slow things down so running with as few programs as possible.

Also going to control panel > Admin Tools > Event Viewer and copy and paste any description if there are any error or information events that coincide with the time of the lagging.

Go to Hud Options > Site Options and disable all the prefetch/track live hands options

Lastly make sure your graphics driver is up to date as this can make a big difference to lagging even with a brand new PC.
