Hi everyone,

I can't do the backup. Each time I got the following message
C:/Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.4/bin\pg_dump.exe --host localhost --port 5432 --username postgres --format custom --blobs --verbose --file "E:\aaa.backup" holdemmanager
pg_dump: [archiver (db)] connection to database "holdemmanager" failed: FATAL: no pg_hba.conf entry for host "::1", user "postgres", database "holdemmanager", SSL off
pg_dump: *** aborted because of error

Process returned exit code 1.

Could you help me please? I already success to do a backup and a restore of this database few weeks a ago. Now I'm planning to migrate my computer to Win7. However this time I cannot do the backup again

cheers

Backup was introduced in 1.11 release, or did you use a different method?

I'm using the backup mode from the PG3admin directly. Anyway since I still all my hand history I will re import all of them (at least last 12months). My earning will not be caclulate correctly due to the recent bugs with the HH but not a big deal. Maybe I can ask PS tu send me history of my last 5K games

It works for most people but not for a small minority, the PostreSQL 8.2 version is very old though, id recommend updating to 8.3 or 8.4 as they dont even support 8.2 anymore. Ive no ETA on when the backup/restore will be fixed though so id recommend do the manual way which i detailed in the other thread if you don't want to wait

HM1/HM2: backup/restore will only work when you're using PostgreSQL 8.4.x and it's installed to the default PostgreSQL install folder.

Which PostgreSQL version are you using?
Using HM1?
Are you restoring to the same computer? Are you restoring a very old .backup file?
Made in a time when you were using a different version of PostgreSQL, or you're using a different version now?

i tried to backup HM2 with postgres 8.4, it did not work either. i pressed backup, it said backup complete immediately, and there was no file.

i'm using latest postgres, and i'm not going to roll back to 8.4.

I'm not sure what you are saying - you are using 8.4 and are not going to roll back to 8.4?
Is your postgresql installed in the standard installation folder?

i reinstalled postgres a couple of times just to test HM2, but i am going to use 9.1

We don't support 9.1 ...at all.

Backup/restore will only work with 8.4
You're free to use 9.0, but then the backup/restore won't work.

Don't use 9.1

You can manually backup the database. Backup in pgadminIII: http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/72/Backup%26RestoreDatabase

And backup the Roaming/HoldemManager/Database folder.
