this is the problem:
i've 2 hard disks, i had a problem with the first hd(where hm is) and windows XP won't start and continually restart himself, so i installed another copy of Windows XP in the second hard disk because i need to save my files.
Now i'm using this second XP, from This windows XP i can go in Holdemmanager folder(it is in the 1° hd) and start the program, but it fail to connect with postgres: the "failed to establish a connectionwith 127. etc." error appears.
i copyed the hm folder like in the "Transfer HM to a new PC" video but i can't export my hands if i can't use hm:(

what can i do?

1. Go to Start > All Programs > PostgreSQL 8.x > PG Admin III or you can navigate to the .exe file by going to C:\Program Files\PostgreSQL\8.x\bin\ and click on the elephant icon called pgAdmin3.exe
in Start > All Programs
i don't have the postgres' folder:confused:, lol really...this is what i have:

You need to install PostgeSQL, Use our combo installer to reinstall PostgreSQL. Make sure you un-check Holdem Manager during installation. http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/Holdem_Manager_Setup.exe

i don't installed it with the combo installer because i have this problem:
http://forums.holdemmanager.com/manager-general/25475-combo-installer-sorry-could-not-install-postgresql.html
so i follow this post:

and installed the 8.3.9 version and it works, but now i have this problem:

if i start hm from the first hd folder, i can't see my databases, i only see the default database with no hands
how can i load my old database to export hands?

do you mean the database from the first XP, if you install a new XP it wont have your old database so unless you still have access to open HM on the old PC you wont be able to copy the hands etc over

If you do still have access to the database on the other XP disk do this:

Export and Import your Hand Histories and/or backup and restore your database

Export Your Notes

Export Your Bonuses and Rakeback - Options > Rakeback & Bonuses http://faq.holdemmanager.com/images/rakeback-bonuses-01.jpg

Export any tourney summaries by selecting all your tournaments in the Data View Sub-Tab of the Tourney > Results Menu and choose Export Tourney Results and summaries

Alternatively if you access to the old hand history folder (either C:/Hmarchive or a folder you specified itself) you could import them into the new database

Yes click import from folder and choose HMarchive. This might not have 100% of your hands but it should be pretty close, it basically archives any hands you import while playing but for any manual imports you done like say bulk mined hands you bought etc they are not archived.
