Hello- This morning HEM kept giving me an error when I would try to refresh my reports page. I downloaded the current version, restarted my computer and everything worked fine, however, it appears that all of my info is missing from the session when HEM wasn't working correctly. So I got my hands from Stars and tried to re-import them but it is now telling me that they are all duplicate hands even though I can clearly see hands that aren't being reported.
Help?

I am having the same problem with duplicate hands. I tried cleaning all the filters and it does not make a difference. Why does it say duplicate hands when neither the trny or the hands are there? also, when I try to select 'All Games' it says 'your HM license does not allow you to view any Omaha data...'.

I have tried this before and it works great for the first few times. Then it comes to a point where it WILL NOT add the hands because it says duplicate hands. And when I try to add the summaries I get from PS for that days play, nothing shows up in the DataView. I will try one more time. Could it be an update in PreSQL that is messing this up?

Looks like your database is corrupting:

The 2 most common causes of this problems are 1) powering off your computer or having your computer lose power while the database is doing something and 2) an old drive with bad sectors on it. Basically what happens is a small portion of a file gets slightly corrupt and then when you reboot and windows goes into that checkdsk procedure it finds the bad section and, thinking it is doing a good thing, removes it. Postgres then loads the table and a portion of it is gone so it doesn’t like that and blocks access to the entire table. Normally when this happens it is on a completely useless file that you'll never even notice is now gone and quite often it will happen to an index in the DB which can easily be rebuilt but in your case it happened to one or more of the tables.

So, to protect against this

1) keep you hands histories in case you do need to reimport
2) use a power bar and avoid hard shutdowns (when you flick the power switch on the pc)
3) if your drive is old consider replacing it with a new one. They are cheap and much faster now than even a few years ago.

FWIW ive been using HM for probably 2 years, as part of internal testing we try out internal betas which would have more bugs than the versions we release, i regularly import hands people send that they cant get to import, i datamine 24 hours on a networked PC and i play poker regularly using HM and ive only gotten 1 corruption when my PC lost power during an import so it is extremely stable so if your having issues its most likely something on your PC

It may also be something to do with your postgreSQL so you could try upgrading to the newest version of PostgreSQL

Hi,

If your doing a clean reinstall of PostgreSQL you should consider the following.

Export and Import your Hand Histories

Then uninstall PostgreSQL and go to Hold'Em Manager Poker Tracking and Analysis Software (http://www.holdemmanager.com) and download the trial version of Holdem Manager which has the newest version of PostgreSQL built into the installer
