Hi Dec1

In your other thread I advised about UAC if you run on Vista or Win7
It's the same advice here

In addition try this:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Improve HUD Performance (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/59/Improve+HUD+Performance+)

Lots of good stuff here too:
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Holdem Manager Performance & Speed Tweaks (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/373/Holdem+Manager+Performance+%26+Speed+Tweaks)

Let me know how you get on

this can be caused by huge Hand history file
Microgaming uses non-text, but special database file for HHs
close room client
go to folder where it is installed and look for the file named
GameHistory.dat
move (not copy!) it to HMarchive folder
when room starts again, it will create new empty file - this have to speed HUD appearence
and make it on regular schedule (every week, for example)

no
just put old file in HMArchive in any date folder (today for example) - you may need it, as another files there, in case of emergency only (when creating new HM database instead of broken).
poker client creates new one in his own folder instead of it - and no changes in HM autoimport settings
the goal is to reduce to minimum size of current GameHistory.dat (where are stored HHs played right now)
Personally I make this procedure every Monday morning - so file size don't exceeds 40-50Mb in client folder
