I've just installed Postgresql 8.4 on my new pc, but I've got my old 8.3 database on an external drive. I've tried the register editor trick from the FAQ, but then HM won't start. When I change it back everything works like it should...

** Are you talking about this FAQ where you are shown how to move the PostgreSQL database folder & edit the registry ?
FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Move Database to Another Hard Drive or Partition (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/368/Move+Database+to+Another+Hard+Drive+or+Partition)

I'm not sure I understand what you are trying to do...

** Do you want to keep your DB on the external drive in your 8.3 DB folder & for that old DB folder to be connected to 8.4 on your new PC ?

Or

** Are you trying to get the old DB off the external drive & move it to the new PC ?

Yes, I tried to edit the registry to link it to the old database.

I'd rather have the first option, but most important for me is that I can use the data from my old database.

Tnx for posting the link to the FAQ. I'll see if it will solve the problem :)
