View Full Version : "valid license could not be obtained" on startup, nothing works

Using the latest version.

I have tried several things, including:

- Registering an account and resetting my serial number

- Reinstalling HEM

- Deleting HoldemManager.lic in XHEO INC/SharedLicenses folder

- Running the .NET Framework Cleanup Tool

- Reinstalling .NET 1.1; 2.0; 3.0; 3.5 SP1.

Any help is appreciated; this problem is confusing because if the computer can't find a license, why won't it let me make one? I obviously have a valid serial key.

Furthermore, since reinstalling HEM, it has assigned me a serial number different than the one I originally had.

I've already sent an email out to support, all they suggested was updating HEM and using .NET cleanup.

Thanks

Yeah its definitely something wrong with the dot net install as its missing a file, can you try running the cleanup tool again and if that doesnt work try using windows update and make sure all the updates are installed and then reboot

heres the dot net solution

1) Uninstall your current version with this tool: http://www.holdemmanager.com/downloads/dotnetfx_cleanup_tool.zip
2) Download and install this one: http://download.microsoft.com/download/0/6/1/061F001C-8752-4600-A198-53214C69B51F/dotnetfx35setup.exe
3) Try to register HM again
