hey guys,

I have a smallish hard drive and noticed that "base" subfolder in the postgresSQL folder is just under 5gb large. Is there anyway i can reduce this or any other way to reduce the size of this file.

I tried to do a purge and while i think i may have done it successfully it did not help me with my storage issue.

Thanks

Don't touch any file in this folder or you will loose all your postgresql data.

After purging you should do a vacuum/full: FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Vacuum Analyze Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+)

Thats the only way to gain some space.

If your C: drive is rather full and you want to try and clear some free space I always suggest deleting any video files you may have, as those take the most space typically.

This program will help you find what files are taking up the most space, visually.

WinDirStat - Windows Directory Statistics (http://windirstat.info/)

If your DB is older it may have the logging enabled and be wasting a lot of space with unnecessary log files.

Do you have a lot of files in the \data\pg_log folder?
