Am I working this out wrong.....

Lets say I play 500 hands and my VPIP is (say) 20%, I presume i have voluntarily put money in the pot 100 times.

So out i these 100 hands my 3bet Stats say that i have 3bet (say) 10% of the time, so I have 3bet with 10 of these hands.

If this is correct (which i dont think it is) my HEM is so wrong.

Any advice or pointers in the right direction most welcome

your 10% 3bet is not from 100 VPIP-hands
but only when there was 2bet (open-raise) before your move

OFC i can only 3bet when someone has raised, but the question is still how is it worked out by the HEM?

I'm not sure about anyone else but I'm not sure I understand the question.

Your 3bet % is the % of times you have 3bet, i.e. if you raise an open raise.

The 3bet % is based on the amount of times you 3bet when the opportunity to do so existed.
So if you followed 1 raiser 10 times but only 3bet them once, your 3bet = 10%

You can test this yourself by filtering hand histories and exporting them to a test database.
I did 10 hands of
Could 3bet=True, Did 3bet=false
Did 3bet =true
vpip=false, Could 3bet=false

You can then experiment with the filters and hud using this mini database and the replayer to confirm the play.

These filters are under the More Filters tab, and obv make sure you get different hands for each of your test groups.
