For about a week now it's been missing a lot of hands on the import. My import folders are all setup properly and I have the most recent version.

I hit clear filter/use for all ect. It said if that doesn't work then to create a new database.. Does this delete my saved hands?

A new database is empty for the beginning. You need to reimport all hands from your archive (default c:\hmarchive) via import file or import from folder.

What is the cause of this problem?

After reading the whole thread it seems like you are missing hands. This can be caused by a damaged database because of a computer crash or a crashing program.

Before doing this:
Which site are you playing? Which HM Version? Are the hands being imported without errors?
Please try a reindex of your database via pgadminIII->maintenance.

I am plays on stars 98%, have the most recent version of Hem NLH/Omaha Pro, not sure if there are errors and I'm not sure how to reindex everything through pgADMIN. Could take me a whole day of reading the FAQ's to figure everything out possibly...

to reindex...

FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Vacuum Analyze Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/88/Vacuum+Analyze+Database+)

BUT WHEN YOU GET TO STEP 6.........................

Choose the 'reindex' radio button to the right (see picture)

It sounds like you maybe are just using an old version of HEM and need to update and reimport recent hands.

Please update to the latest version - http://www.holdemmanager.net/hmupdate

To get all your missed hands imported

1) Right-Click your Desktop > New > Folder.
2) Go to your \HMArchive folder - To verify the path, go to Options > Configure Auto Import Folders > Edit > Archive Folder: _________.
3) Open that folder and copy the hands (folders of hands) you think it has missed. The archive should be organized by \Month\DayOfMonth (example: D:\HMArchive\2009\07\31). Also get any hand files that are in your \poker site\hand history folder.
4) Paste them into your new desktop folder > HM > Import From Folder.

If that doesn't work, you could try a new DB, which is among those steps/questions that morny asked you to answer:

*Try creating a new UTF DB - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Create / Delete Database (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/75/Create+%7B47%7D+Delete+Database)
*Now import a small portion of your \HMArchive so you can see if the problem exists in the new DB - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: How to Import & Export Hands (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/98/How+to+Import+%26+Export+Hands)
*If the new DB seems to work properly, you will want to import the rest of your archives to the new DB, export/import the hands from the old DB to the new DB, and export/import any player notes and tourney summaries - and then delete the old DB.
*Make sure you export/backup everything before deleting the old DB - FAQ - Hold'em Manager Poker Tracking Software :: Reinstalling on a new PC - Backup Tips (http://faq.holdemmanager.com/questions/372/Reinstalling+on+a+new+PC+-+Backup+Tips)
